A dental implant is an artificial metal root (titanium) inserted into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. It serves as a support to attach a crown, bridge, or dental prosthesis.

Composition of a dental implant:
  • The Implant: a titanium screw inserted into the bone.
  • The Abutment: a small piece that connects the implant to the artificial tooth.
  • The Crown: the visible tooth, often ceramic, fixed onto the abutment.

  • Wisdom teeth extractions
  • Bone grafts
  • Gingival (gum) grafts

Natural Regeneration with PRGF

You may be familiar with these regenerative treatments used in aesthetic care, particularly for skin or hair. In dentistry, the same principle is also used to promote better healing after certain procedures, such as wisdom teeth extraction and dental implant placement.

PRGF (Plasma Rich in Growth Factors) utilizes your own body’s natural healing capabilities. A small blood sample is taken, then processed to obtain plasma concentrated in growth factors, natural elements that help tissues repair faster and more effectively.

This plasma is then applied directly to the treated area. Since it comes from your own blood, there is no risk of rejection or allergy. PRGF helps reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation after the procedure, while promoting faster and more comfortable healing.

In summary, PRGF is a natural and safe solution that significantly reduces the risk of post-operative complications by promoting optimal healing conditions, leading to a smoother recovery and long-lasting results.

What is periodontal disease (periodontitis)?

It is an infection of the gums and the tooth’s supporting structures (ligaments, bone).

It often begins with gingivitis (red, bleeding gums), and can progress to periodontitis, a more severe form that can lead to tooth loss.

The mouth is the gateway to overall health. Gum disease and poor oral health can introduce bacteria into the blood, leading to inflammation, complications with diabetes, and a higher risk of heart disease.

A root canal (also called endodontic treatment) is a dental procedure that aims to save an infected or severely damaged tooth by removing the dental pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth containing the nerves and blood vessels), then cleaning, disinfecting, and sealing the inside of the tooth.

Is it painful?

No, because the anesthesia is very effective. There may be slight pain or sensitivity after the treatment, but it is generally well controlled by painkillers.

What if we do nothing?

If a dental infection is not treated:

  • It can spread to the bone and tissues around the tooth,
  • Cause an abscess,
  • And lead to the loss of the tooth.
  • Cause general health problems

The occlusal guard is designed to address functional issues of the jaw and teeth. It helps prevent bruxism (teeth grinding or clenching, especially at night) and relieves temporomandibular joint (TMJ) discomfort. Additionally, it protects teeth from wear caused by friction and promotes relaxation of the jaw muscles.

The mouthguard, on the other hand, protects teeth from physical shocks. It is used during contact sports (e.g., boxing, football, hockey) and prevents injuries to the teeth, lips, and jaw in case of impact.
